Hi! We are going to Disneyland for the 1st time with our (almost) 3 year old daughter. Any tips or must-sees while we are there? She loves princesses, so we'd like to meet a few princesses. She also likes Minnie but is afraid of costumed characters.

    Hello Rachelle,

I'm so excited for your first vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth!

Be sure to stop by Guest Relations and pickup a "First Time Visit" button for her to wear! There are plenty of magical Meet 'N' Greets at the Disneyland Resort. I would start off by taking your princess to the Princess Fantasy Faire in Fantasyland. She will have the opportunity to meet multiple Princesses and two enchanting shows there. Near "it's a small world" you can meet the adventurous Merida from Brave in the Fairytale Garden. I'd also recommend you take your daughter to Pixie Hollow to discover the hidden home of Tinker Bell & her Fairy Friends.

Head over to the Storybook Land Canal Boats or ride Casey Jr. Circus Train; both attractions cover the same magical real estate and are a must-see. Take a flight on Peter Pan's Flight, then head over to "it's a small world" in the far corner of Fantasyland. We love to take a relaxing ride on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, try to get a Fastpass early to World of Color & Radiator Springs Racers as these are both high in demand. The Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! is a family favorite of ours, and be sure to ride The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure; we end up riding these two attraction multiple times.

If there is ever an attraction that your daughter cannot ride, ask the Cast Member at the queue entrance if the attraction offers a Rider Switch. The Disney Parks have come up with a convenient feature called the Rider Switch to help families utilize the attractions in a timely manner even if all the Guests in their party do not wish to ride whether it is due to height restrictions or personal preference.

I hope this helps. Please write me back if you have any more questions on how I can help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.

    Wishing you magic!
