Hello =), I am a Disneyland Pass Holder and a Single mom looking for ways to save money while having a Great Time at the happiest place on earth. Do you have any suggestions on celebrating a birthday where it doesn't cost $50+ for each person celebrating?

    Hi, Laurie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love celebrating special occasions at The Happiest Place on Earth, too!

I suggest you make an afternoon restaurant reservation if cost is a concern, because the offerings on the table-service lunch menus are generally more affordable than the dinnertime items, but just as delicious. My favorite lunch menu item at Blue Bayou, for example, is the famous Monte Cristo sandwich. Wash it down with a Mint Julep, the signature drink of New Orleans Square, for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere! Even quick-service dining locations like Plaza Inn at Disneyland Park and Flo’s V-8 Café at Disney California Adventure Park can provide a festive party atmosphere without breaking the bank.

Another option to add to your magical celebration is one of Disneyland Resort’s personal-size party cakes. There are two themes to choose from—a Disney Princess Jewelry Box or Disney Pirate Treasure Chest—and each one comes filled with a small cake, along with a lit candle and special surprise. The individual-size cakes are $15 each (plus tax) and can be ordered in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463) or in person during your meal. Be sure to stop by City Hall to get the guest of honor a complimentary celebration button so Cast Members will wish him or her a happy birthday throughout your visit.

I hope this helps, Laurie! Please write back with any other questions you may have as your planning continues.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
