    Dawn from OH Asked

At Disney with our 4 & 6 yr old girls later in the month. Plan to have one day "off" from the theme parks but would like to go to breakfast and maybe see some other things before heading to the hotel pool for the day..any suggestions?

    Hi Dawn,

I think its a great idea to take a day off from the theme parks and just relax.  Kids need a chance to have some room to move around and burn off some of that kid energy.

My family loves spending time at Downtown Disney. There are some wonderful places to eat, tons of great shopping & fun things to do. The World of Disney has a HUGE room with everything princess.  While Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is way cool, I wouldn't spend the money on it since you'll be going to the pool in the afternoon.  There are a couple of small rides that your daughters may enjoy as well.

Another great place to spend some time is Disney's Boardwalk area. Great shops and yummy food. There are also Midway Games to play. You'll often find performers walking around entertaining guests. It feels like you're truly on the shore.

Be sure to explore your resort. Many have playgrounds, shopping, arcades and boat and bike rentals.

You could play a round of Miniature Golf at one of the two locations on property.

If your girls are animal lovers, head over to Ft. Wilderness to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch and Farm.
There you'll find Cinderella's Ponies (they are so adorable) and the majestic horses seen on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.

There is a lot more to Disney beyond the theme parks and you'll have a relaxing fun-filled day.  Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
