HI, I am going to Disney World the week after Thanksgiving and wanted to know if I am allowed to take a go pro with me?

    Hi Gretchen,

Greetings from a fellow Hoosier! I'm so excited for you...you're visiting at my very favorite time of year! With manageable crowds, typically mild weather, and Christmas decorations and music that fill the entire Resort with festivities and a holiday joy, you're sure to have a BLAST!

When experiencing such a magical vacation, of course it's important to find ways to remember all of the fun! While selfie sticks and tripod or monopod stands that won't fit into a standard backpack are not allowed, there is nothing in the park rules that states that you cannot bring a GoPro camera with you into the theme parks. However, safety will always be the first priority, so it is possible that a Cast Member may ask you to remove it from a mount or store it securely during an attraction if they feel that it could be a danger to you or another Guest. Otherwise, have a blast recording some of the special moments around the most magical place on earth, and I hope that it helps you remember your visit forever!

If you love capturing magical moments, I'd definitely encourage you to take advantage of Disney's PhotoPass service. You'll find hundreds of PhotoPass photographers roaming the theme parks, and I love having them take our photo because everyone in my family can be in the same photo! Plus, with Memory Maker, I'm able to view, share, and download all of the photos collected by PhotoPass photographers and while we're on some of our favorite attractions!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Gretchen, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip! I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
