Do Disney World Resorts offer military discounts on hotel stays to Veterans? Both my husband and I served in the Army, are not currently active and neither one of us retired. Meaning we have NO valid I.D. (only an expired one), but we do have our DD 214.

    Hi Danielle,
Thanks for your question. The Walt Disney World resort currently offers resort room discounts only to active duty and retired members of the military with appropriate identification. I'm afraid you and your husband would not qualify for discounted rooms under this offer.

However, do not despair! Shades of Green, the resort on Walt Disney World property and owned and operated by the Armed Forces Recreation Center, will allow military veterans with a DD214 to stay on-site during September 2015. In years past, they have extended this offer every January and September. See the Shades of Green website (www.shadesofgreen.org) for more details.

Danielle, I hope this information helps and that you and your family can find the resort that is perfect for both your family and your budget.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
