    Louise Asked

Hi there, I've been to Disney world with my parents & children and find that as a single parent it's to big for me to visit on my own with my kids aged 5 & 9, is it the same for Disneyland California?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Louise. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

Louise, you will find that there are some similarities at Disneyland Resort, but there are also vast differences compared to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The most obvious distinction is the sheer size of Walt Disney World Resort, making monorails, buses, and ferry boats necessary modes of transportation. On the other hand, Disneyland Park and California Adventure are directly across from each other with a shared Esplanade in the middle; they're just steps away, making Park Hopping a breeze! I've trekked from Toon Town of Disneyland Park to Cars Land in California Adventure within 20 minutes on a crowded day. You will find it manageable to take your two children to Disneyland Resort on your own.

Downtown Disney and all 3 Disneyland Resort hotels are also within walking distance to the parks as well. At Downtown Disney, there is a monorail station where Guests can ride it and be dropped off at Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park. It's more of an attraction where Guests can enjoy scenic views aboard the monorail.

Mom's Tip: Be sure to download the Disneyland mobile app prior to your arrival. It gives you handy information regarding attraction wait times, character meet-and-greet times and locations, restaurant menus, and much more. That way, you can easily plan your day (sorry, no FastPass+ or MagicBands here in Disneyland Resort).

I hope this information is helpful for you as you plan your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, Louise. If you have further questions, please visit me on the Panel again soon.

    Have a magical day,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
