We are going to Disney world May 12-16th of this year. Planning on Animal kingdom for that Monday. Is it still necessary to get a fast pass of the River of Lights?? Is it possible to wait till you use your first 3 then get that one later? Thank you

    Hi Lindy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Wow - your trip will be here before we can blink!

We rarely use our Fast Pass+ selections for nighttime shows because, when we do, we cannot make any additional Fast Pass+ selections during the day. On our visit last summer, we opted to do the Rivers of Light Dining Package. With the dining package, we received tickets to access a reserved seating area for the Rivers of Light show. There was no additional cost for the reserved seating access with the dining package. We chose to dine at Tusker House restaurant but you could also choose Tiffins.

We arrived to the reserved seating area about 15 minutes prior to the show (we managed to squeeze in a fourth Fast Pass+ after dinner but before the show). We were able to get great seats in that section - on the third row near the front. I had seen the show prior to that visit but had been much higher up in the amphitheater. I noticed many more details in the show with the closer seats.

If you wait until you use your first three Fast Pass+ selections to make a Rivers of Light Fast Pass+ selection, it may not be available. If you definitely want to see the show but do not want to use a Fast Pass+ selection for it, do the dining package!

Lindy, I do hope you pack a bag for an expedition to Pandora! Remember to start practicing your Na'vi - Kaltxì (hello), Irayo (thanks) and Rutxe (please). And, of course, when flying through the Valley of Mo'ara on Avatar Flight of Passage, be sure to say Sivako (rise to the challenge)!
