    Lorrie from AB Asked

Hello, I will be in Disney World at the Magic Kingdom on January 31st, and wondered if anything special happens to celebrate the new year?

Happy Holidays, Lorrie! The season is starting to be with us as cool weather creeps in and holiday decorations go up. I can hardly believe Halloween is so close! Holidays are Amuck, amuck, amuck!

While there is traditionally a New Years Eve tag onto IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and a countdown over Cinderella Castle, I haven’t seen many other New Year’s Festivities formally around the park. I’m sure you will see lots of 2019 merchandise gracing the shelves for the New Year. As January goes on, the 18th will bring the return of Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts. You’ll be able to see, watch and even EAT the art! Not to mention January also holds the races for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, so visit runDisney.com to register and lace up your racing shoes!

If I can help you further plan your winter getaway, please let me know. And don’t forget to pack that swimsuit! The Resort hotel pools are warmed year round and many of them even have hot tubs! I’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
