We were at Disney World last March for the first time as father. My wife is not one who enjoys rides but would much rather sit on the beach and relax. Is there a beach she could go to while I went to one of the parks with the kids?

Your wife might enjoy the sandy shore at WDW's Typhoon Lagoon. There are many places to lounge and relax. A good book and a fruity beverage sound like a nice day to me!

Also, you might want to choose a WDW hotel that offers a beach atmosphere. I love lounging at the beach when vacationing at the Grand Floridian and Polynesian Resorts. Another favorite of mine is the beach area at the Yacht and Beach Club. For a moderate resort, try the Caribbean Beach Resort which offers great sandy spots to unwind. Our family enjoys CBR for its tropical flavor!

Many relaxing opportunities can be found around WDW. Even the Wilderness Lodge has a small sandy beach to enjoy. I also like to relax at the resort pools. Most quiet pools offer wonderfully peaceful surroundings. In recent memory, I recall relaxing at the quiet pools of the Beach Club and Caribbean Beach Resort.

Perhaps she'd also like to take in some shopping or a spa! WDW is a resort and offers much more than just the theme parks. Tea at the Grand Floridian is an ideal way to relax!
