We are going to Disney World in July and looking forward to avatar. I've heard that heavy people will not be able to ride. My son is about 5'7" and weighs around 280 (shirt size 1 or 2 L). do you think it would be problem for him to ride.

    Hi Guadalupe!

Pandora - The World of Avatar is a pretty amazing new addition to Disney's Animal Kingdom!  Avatar Flight of Passage and Na'vi River Journey are both incredible experiences that I highly recommend for anyone visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Na'vi River journey is a slow boat ride through a bioluminescent rainforest and has a boat as a ride vehicle, so he shouldn't have any problem there.  Avatar Flight of Passage has a seat that is a bit like a motorcycle and has restraints that come up and hold you tightly across your calves and back.  Although most people have no trouble with the ride, some larger guests have a tougher time fitting comfortably on the seat.

Even though it may not be a problem for him, there is a test seat outside of the line entrance so that he can see if he will be able to sit comfortably on the ride before waiting in line.  A good tip is to sit as far forward on the seat as you can and push your body and knees as far forward as possible so that the restraints can properly lock into place.  I hope you have a wonderful visit to Pandora - The World of Avatar!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
