We are going to Disney World January 2016. My son will be turning 16 on the trip. I am looking for something a little special to do that day. Maybe a special place to watch fireworks???

    Hi Chris,

Celebrating a birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort is just about as magical as it gets; there are so many ways to make the day special and memorable! First things first, be sure to get a "Happy Birthday" Celebration Recognition Button when you check-in at your Resort Hotel or at Guest Services at any of the Theme Parks. It's so much fun to share your celebration with Cast Members and other Guests!

One of the most unique ways to celebrate your son's sixteenth birthday would be to book Wild Africa Trek in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This one of a kind (specialty priced) Tour allows you to get an up-close view of some of the animals on the savanna. You'll cross over a rope bridge and get to dangle over hippos and crocodiles while safely secured to a harness. You will also get to snack on African inspired cuisine while overlooking the gorgeous savanna. The view of the animals roaming the savanna is simply breathtaking! Disney PhotoPass photographers are on hand to capture your memories during this adventure and at the end of the Tour you will receive a photo code that you can use to access and download images taken during your Wild Africa Trek experience. It's truly an amazing experience. Reservations can be made 180 days in advance of your Resort stay by calling (407) 939-8687.

If it's a special fireworks experience you're looking for, then I suggest either Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party in Magic Kingdom Park or  IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party in Epcot. Both offer preferred viewing for the fireworks shows as well as a delicious dessert buffet.

    Enjoy Your Magical Celebration,
    Susan
