We will be at Disney world on February 9th, which is one of the dates of the Princess and Pirates Party. We are not planning to attend the event, but would like to view the Magic, Music and Mayhem fireworks. What time is it and where should we view it?

    Heather,

The fireworks are at 9:30pm.  My recommendation would be to go to the Polynesian Resort and watch the fireworks from its beach.  If you go to the beach behind and to the right (as you face the Magic Kingdom) of the guest pool you will have a great viewing spot AND there are speakers in the area with the music piped-in from the Magic Kingdom.

I did this at Christmas for the Mickey's Very Magical Christmas Party, and it was perfect.  Obviously the fireworks are farther away,  but it is still a magical experience.  It also could be a great romantic spot, if you're looking for that kind of an experience.

If you arrive around 9:00pm you will also have a chance to see the Electrical Water Pageant out on the Seven Seas lagoon, which is a short electric-light show aboard slow moving barges (all set to fun electrical music).  I'd recommend seeing this as well - it's a little known small gem of WDW.
