I am going to Disney World the end of Nov. This is my retirement trip and I want to know how you get to be in the Mickey Parade?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Sylvia!

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement!  I can't think of a better place to celebrate than Disney World!  Be sure to pick up an "I'm Celebrating" button at any Guest Relations location.

I really wish I had an insider secret for you but Guests are typically chosen at random to open the parks or be in parades. There are times when they may have a celebrity VIP visiting the parks that they ask to be the Grand Marshall for the parades but usually its Guests that were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time that were showered in pixie dust.

There really isn't a trick to it but if you want to increase your chances of being selected I would plan to arrive at the turnstiles at the parks super early. Show your enthusiasm by wearing ears or matching shirts. Smile big and be talkative and friendly to the Cast Members. In other words, draw some attention (in a positive way) to yourself.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We'll be hEAR for you up until you embark on your pixie dusted trail.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
