We are going to Disney World for 15 days. My daughter is 6 years old with autism. Is this going to be too long a stay for  her? i also want to do character dining every day or will it be too much on her?  It's her first visit.

    Hi Wendy!

How wonderful to have a nice, LONG vacation!  I think in these situations, 15 days could be a good thing, or a not-so-good thing...how well does your daughter do with 'new' places?  If she doesn't adjust very well, it could be a LONG 15 days.  My son (and children are ALL different),  starts asking to go back to 'his house' by day 5 or so.  He doesn't do well with change and it takes him a while to acclimate to a new setting.

On the other hand, 15 days would be WONDERFUL because you could take everything at your own pace!  You would have time to soak it all in, go slow, enjoy so many of the little things many overlook.  You can also space things out so that she won't get over-stimulated.

In the end, it really depends on your daugther's personality.  If you do decide to go for the 15 day trip, try to bring as many familiar things from home with you as possible, and try to show her pictures of where you'll be staying (rooms, resort, etc) so that she is somewhat familiar with it before you get there.

    Have a magical vacation!
