The Disney Website has different rules for daily attire and special event (Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party) attire. Is our family (adults and kids) allowed to wear our costumes for the special event party to the park that morning?

    Boo to you, Kristin!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your spook-tacular question. My family is counting down the days until we attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and we are having so much fun planning our costumes and dreaming of all the frightfully delicious treats we’re going to eat!

I’m so glad you’ve take a look at the costume guidelines for both Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and regular theme park attire. It would not be magical to be prohibited from entering the park because you’ve unwittingly violated a park rule! Here’s the scoop: Guests age 13 and under may wear their costumes before the party begins, but Guests 14 and older may not.

Kristin, the adults in your group have a few options. Lockers are available for rent, and you could stash your costumes or costume elements in those during the day and then change when the grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize. Another option is that the adults in your group could choose to Disneybound, wearing an outfit inspired by a character that meets the adult attire rules. Jean shorts, a yellow t-shirt, and a red bandana create a Woody-inspired costume; throw a cowboy hat in your backpack and you’re ready to party!

Have a ghoulishly good time trick-or-treating around Magic Kingdom Park with the happy haunts!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
