1st Disney visit Mar 7-14; thought it was a good idea to plan to be at the park that had EMH and made dinner resevations accordingly; now after some more research, it seems this may not have been the best plan...worried I have messed this up...suggestions?

Hi Teri!  If you have already made your dining reservations for those days then I suggest you keep everything you have and not worry one bit about it!  I think the basis for telling guests to possibly not visit parks with Extra Magic Hours is that during the regular hours of the day those parks might be a bit more crowded. If guests only have tickets that allow them to one park for one day they will choose the park with the most hours which of course makes sense. If you have Park Hopper options it is good to visit another park during regular hours and then "hop" over the Extra Magic Hours park for the less crowded evening times.

To be honest with you I never even look at a calendar when planning my trips anymore and go with the flow and have just as much fun whether it is Extra Magic Hours in the park that day.  I think what is more important is that you know what attractions you want to do and where they are located and what uses Fast Passes. If you do your homework the crowd levels won't really make much of a difference and you can see and do a lot!

You haven't messed up.....You will be fine and have a great trip!
