We are going to Disney, staying at AoA on our first family visit in May. Our plane arrives at noon so I made reservations at Chef Mickey's at 5:00pm. Is it faster to take the bus to Epcot then the monorail or the bus to MK and then the monorail.

    Hi Donna!

Wow, I love hearing from people that are planning their first visit to Walt Disney World. I'm so excited for you!!

(By the way, you'll love Disney's Art of Animation Resort - it's absolutely amazing!)

Good job in scoring a reservation at Chef Mickey's! The food is excellent, the selection is incredible, and it's so fun to see the Monorail whiz by over your head.

I think you have two main options to consider in getting to Chef Mickey's:

Option #1 - Ride the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom, then hop on the Monorail's resort loop over to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Make sure you don't hop on the express Monorail loop by accident because that won't stop at Disney's Contemporary Resort!

Option #2 - Ride the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom, then follow the walking path over to Disney's Contemporary Resort. From the bus stop, you should be able to walk there in about 10 minutes. This might be a good option if, for whatever reason, the line for the Monorail's resort loop is backed up pretty far and you're short on time.

After your dinner, it might not be a bad idea to walk back to the bus stop at the Magic Kingdom so you can catch your bus back to Disney's Art of Animation Resort. That way, you can burn off a few calories from that awesome meal and it might actually get you back to the bus stop quicker than if you rode the Monorail around the entire resort loop back toward the Magic Kingdom. (However, the Monorail is way cool, so it may be worth the extra time.)

I hope that helps! If you should have any other questions as you're planning your vacation, please feel free to let me know and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can!

    Best regards,
    Derek
