We'll be in Disney for my sons 3rd birthday. What's a great character experience for this little Mickey lover to do? Chef Mickey was amazing last year for his second but looking for something new this year.

Hello Samantha and thanks for bringing such a fun question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel and on behalf of us all may I send your darling little boy the happiest of magical wishes on his upcoming 3rd birthday. And what better place to celebrate than within the wonder of Walt Disney World Resort where everyone gets to dream big and enjoy an enchanted time!
Chef Mickey's is for me the number 1 choice for Character Dining but here just for your Mouseketeer are my top 3 alternative suggestions  -
1: The revolving Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot is a super spot where Guests can sometimes get to meet Farmer Mickey who joins his nutty pals Chip 'n' Dale
2: Mosey along down to Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
3: Minnie's Seasonal Dining is always a whole lot of fun set within the Hollywood & Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios where Minnie is usually joined by pals Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy.
Plus be sure to collect a complimentary 'I'm celebrating' button for your special birthday boy which are generally available from most Guest Relations locations; wearers of these cute buttons are usually wished a "Happy birthday!" by Cast Members and other Guests alike.
    Magical wishes.
