I have been to Disney several times, but I am l planning my first solo Disney vacation. I know there are no single -occ room discounts, but are there any special discounts, experiences, amenities I should be aware of as a solo female traveler?

    Hi Meredith,

I've been to Walt Disney World many times on my own. I find my solo trips to be among my favorite Disney experiences because I get to do what I want, when I want, at my own pace.

I am unaware of any discounts for solo travelers. As far as amenities go, you should take advantage of single rider lines whenever possible. For example, at Epcot's Test Track, the single rider line typically has half the wait, or less, of the regular standby line. I've also had very good luck getting into table service restaurants on my own without a reservation. Of course nothing is guaranteed, but they can often find space for a single guest when larger parties are left waiting.

If you're looking for just a little bit of companionship on your trip, you may want to look into booking a backstage tour. Most of these are open only to guests ages 16 and up, so you won't be encountering small kids under foot. The cast member guides are great to talk to and can often give extra advice to a solo guest.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
