We will be going to disney In sept and are staying at the Pop Century. I heard the 50's building is the best, does that section have any standard rooms? Thanks!

    Hi Alyssa,

    Welcome to the Moms Panel.

I can tell you without a doubt that there are standard rooms in the '50s section of Pop Century. My family stays there frequently, always in a standard room, and we agree that the '50s section is our favorite. Some rooms in the '50s -- the ones very closest to the Hippy Dippy Pool and Classic Hall -- are preferred and cost about $15 more per night.

But we actually like the standard '50s rooms better. We often have stayed in both buildings 2 and 3 and find them quiet and convenient. It's an easy walk beside the bowling pin quiet pool to get to the bus stop, food court and other essential areas. You can see the locations of the buildings on the Pop Century map link.

From either of those buildings, you also are within easy walking distance of the adjacent Art of Animation resort. It is fun to walk over there and check out the outdoor areas with themes from the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, Finding Nemo and Cars. The Landscape of Flavors food court at Art of Animation has different choices than the food court at Pop Century as well.

I hope your family has as much fun staying at Pop Century as my family always does. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions about the resort or any other part of Walt Disney World as you make your plans. I'm happy to help.

    Enjoy!
