Hi Katie,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Although I cannot guarantee that your Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) will be entirely safe, I will say that when my husband used one, it was always right where we left it! If you have not done so already, I suggest that you review the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. Note that the transfer location may vary from ride to ride. At Kilimanjaro Safaris, for example, we were able to leave the ECV right near where we boarded the jeep for the attraction. For other rides, we left it at the attraction entrance.
We have twice used
ECV Rentals at the theme parks and were pleased with the service. I was most impressed with the fact that, had the ECV stopped working, a cast member would have come to assist us in the park. There are also other Disney Featured Providers who can drop off and pick-up an ECV at resort hotels should you decide to rent one. Each provider has specific policies regarding loss or damage so I suggest that you contact them directly for more information. I did call to speak with one of the Disney Featured Providers, Best Price Scooters and Strollers (Best Price Mobility). The representative indicated that if a scooter was stolen, they would bring the guest another one right away.
Katie, if you are bringing your own ECV, I suggest that you simply take care and park it in a location that is as close to the attraction as possible. Also remember that rain showers occur sporadically, so, if bringing your own ECV, bring some sort of cover for it!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
