Disney is removing the solid colored MagicBands from their websites, and making them an "in store only" purchase. Do you know if this a permanent change?

    Hi Jim!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

I'm such a big fan of Walt Disney World Resort's MagicBands. The colorful, comfortable waterproof wristbands are so awesome, and they have so many uses!

You can use your MagicBand or card to:
    • Unlock the door of your Disney Resort hotel room
    • Enter theme and water parks (with valid admission)
    • Check in at FastPass+ entrances for shows and attractions
    • Connect Disney Photopass images to your My Disney Experience account
    • Charge food and merchandise purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room
Recently, Walt Disney World introduced a new generation of MagicBands, the MagicBand 2. While the new bands have the same functionality as the first generation bands, the center piece is now removable and can be placed in carabiners or lanyard medals called MagicKeepers (for Guests who don't care to wear them on their wrist).

I checked the Disney Store website and the Shop Disney Parks Mobile App to see which MagicBands are currently available for purchase. The solid-colored first generation bands are no longer for sale, but the MagicBand 2 is available in all eight standard colors: Red, Purple, Blue, Gray, Green, Pink, Orange and Yellow.

I hope this helps answer your question. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
