Been to Disney often.Going to MVMCP for the 1st time on Dec 16th with DD10 DS6,DW. What are the must do's for the party? Heard the character lines could be long, but the kids like characters they don't usually see, but don't want to spend all night in line

    Hi Zeke,

Of all the Special Events at Walt Disney World, my absolute favorite is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. You are going to have a wonderful time!

There are so many wonderful things about the Party that I enjoy. For starters, Cinderella Castle is decorated in breathtaking Dream Lights. Check the Times Guide to see when you can expect the Castle Lighting Ceremony to take place (it's usually just after dusk). This is a special ceremony on the Castle stage and Cinderella and others join the fun. It's very magical.

You definitely won't want to miss Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade which features many beloved characters and is complete with a visit from Santa Claus himself. One of my favorite parts of the parade is when the toy soldiers come marching by.

The Holiday Wishes fireworks are mesmerizing. I especially enjoy cookies eating Christmas cookies and sipping hot cocoa while strolling down Main Street in the falling snow.

I recommend checking the Times Guide as soon as you enter the Party to determine what times these 3 things are and then fitting in visits with characters and rides in between them.

A few special Meet & Greet opportunities this year include: Phineas & Ferb in Tomorrowland, the Seven Dwarfs in Frontierland and Duffy the Disney Bear in Town Square.

Some of my favorite memories of Disney in recent years are from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and I'm wishing you a wonderful time,
