Going to Disney November this year! I have an anxious older child, and we also have some problems with motion sickness. What can you tell me about Dinosaur, Mission Space( mild version), and Big Thunder Railroad? Any drops? Motion sickness alerts? Thanks!

If you have another adult with you who could ride ahead of time and 'preview' the rides, that might be helpful for you to get more specific information. You might also try looking up videos on YouTube, so you can see the riders view of those rides.

My own daughters (4, 6 & 8)  have no problems with any of the above, and one does suffer from motion sickness, but seemingly only in the car. However, my girls are fairly fearless. If your child is nervous or frightens easily, then I would not recommend Dinosaur. It leaves even many adults screaming. It isn't 'scary' per se, but it's very rough and bouncy, and there are flashing lights and dinosaurs popping out at you - all designed to startle, and it works! For some children it is very overwhelming, and I've seen many little ones leave the ride in tears.

The other two are more do-able. The mild version of Mission: Space is very mild. In fact, I once rode it with my husband's 91 year old grandmother! The seats tilt back so that you are lying on your back. As long as that wouldn't upset or make your kids ill, then I think you will be fine. There is a bit of a struggle with the outer space landing, but you can assure your little ones that I've 'crashed' many times, and always walked away just fine. :)

Big Thunder Mountain is what I would call a transitional roller coaster. It's kid-friendly and far more tame than most amusement park coasters, but still fast and fun! My 4 year old rides with her hands in the air the whole time! As long as your child is ok with coasters in general, he/she should be fine here. There are brief periods where the train car goes inside the mountain, but it's not pitch black and nothing jumps out at you. Good clean fun!

Hope that helps, and good luck!
