We are going on a Disney 7 night Mediterranean Cruise in August and I would love some suggestions on shore excursions. We will be travelling as a family of five with kids ages 7, 10 and 13.

    Welcome aboard, Cristina!

Your voyage to the Mediterranean will be here sooner than you know. There's lots to see and do, in so little time. European port adventures will come with a lot of walking, so make sure that you and the kids have very comfortable shoes and warm weather clothing on. We sailed in late July and it was very hot and humid.

Our family had a super busy and active day in Naples. There was quite a bit of walking, but my kids were fascinated during the tour. Try to stop by for gelato whenever you can. There's a lot of uneven paths in Pompeii - but it was really cool seeing the unearthed town.

When we were docked in Civitavecchia, we enjoyed the Best of Rome adventure without the kids. My kids were younger (6 & 8) during that time, and they were likely not going to enjoy themselves that day touring churches and doing more walking around Rome. They instead spent an awesome day onboard at the Youth Clubs. Your kids are bigger and they might enjoy this tour with you. At La Spezia, we had a great time seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa for half the day. We also loved having lunch there -- Pizza in Pisa! It was a short day, which allowed us to rest up.

The beach day we had at Villefranche is no longer offered, but you might want to check out a tour of Nice. Monaco won't be a kids' place as you may already know. Hope this helps, Cristina!  I'm out of space :-) ~ Dolly
