We are going to be in Disney next week and I have just purchased the memory maker. We are staying off site and have not purchased magic bands. Would we need to purchase a magic band in order to get the "full experience" of our memory maker?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Gregory!

Your trip to Walt Disney World Resort is just around the corner and I'm sure your family is getting excited about your vacation! By purchasing Memory Maker, you will have access to all of the photographs taken of your family by Disney PhotoPass photographers during your trip. You will have unlimited digital downloads of your pictures and you will even be able to add cool things like borders and graphics to them to commemorate your trip. Memory Maker will also include attraction photographs. Certain attraction photographs and videos are only available for Guests who are using a MagicBand linked to their My Disney Experience account for Memory Maker access. On these attractions, your photographs will automatically be added to your account during your ride. Other attractions will have a Disney PhotoPass area after the attraction where you can manually add your pictures to your account by touching a PhotoPass card or your MagicBand to the Mickey touch point.

For my family, we really love to watch the videos of our favorite attractions after our trip. My 4 year old son loves to experience his favorite rides at home and gets such a huge smile on his face when we go back through old videos. So for our family, we are sure to wear our MagicBands while riding. However, even if you do not choose to purchase MagicBands, your Memory Maker will still capture your family's memories from your magical trip with your PhotoPass card. Be sure to ask the Disney PhotoPass photographers if they have a Magic Shot for a special surprise in your pictures!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
