What are the Disney Magic Bands? How do they work? How much are they?

    Dear Louann,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about MagicBands!

A few years ago, Walt Disney World Resort rolled out this awesome technology known as MagicBands. MagicBands serve as your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room key, your ticket to enter the theme parks and water parks, your check-in for your selected FastPass+ attractions, your link to your PhotoPass selections, and they can also be used to charge food and souvenirs to your hotel account if you are staying on-site at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

MagicBands can also unlock magic at several attractions around the theme parks, but I don't want to give away all of the surprises.

They work using RFID technology, and you touch the face of the MagicBand to a touchpoint in order to use them.

If you are an Annual Passholder or you are staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, there is no charge for your MagicBand. If you are staying off-site, you may purchase a MagicBand either inside of the parks or at the Disney Store!

Hope that helps with your planning!
