Hello!! I am going to Disney in late Nov. with my high school marching band to march in the morning parade and I'm a planning freak! You moms are like planning warriors, any advice, tips, or anything would be soo helpful! Thank You!

Oh my goodness, I'm so excited for you! Marching down Main Street U.S.A. is going to be a magical memory you will cherish for a lifetime. You are lucky to have adults who are willing to organize a school trip through the Disney Youth program in Orlando. Having the opportunity to explore Walt Disney World Resort with your peers is going to be incredible fun.

I have planned eight senior trips to Walt Disney World Resort for the high school where I teach. I love it when students stop by to inquire about the trip. Do you know the adult in charge of your marching band trip? If so, I'd have a conversation with him or her to find out how FastPass+ reservations will be made for the group. Depending on whether that adult is experienced in Disney vacation planning, he or she may be grateful for your assistance. Remind them that guests staying at hotels on Disney property have the option to book FastPass+ reservations 60 days in advance of your arrival. I set up these reservations for my students each year and it saves them from waiting in some of the longest queues in the theme parks.

Also, find out if advance dining reservations have been set up for the group. If not, perhaps you'd like to gather some friends and arrange for a few special table service meals during your free time. Of course, you'll need to know when you'll have free time before you book those reservations. Ask the lead trip planner if you could have a general outline of the free time that will be afforded the students.

Let me know if you're looking for more ideas for your free time. My students enjoy tours, Segway training, fireworks cruises, parasailing and more. I'd be happy to share what I know.

    Best wishes,
