When we come to Disney what can we do to keep our feet in good shape throughout the trip? Last year we had blisters after day 2 was over and standing up was agonizing at times. We had 5 days last year and this year we have 7. Any tips?

Hi Rob!  You came to the right place for advice on this one...  With well over 200 trips to Walt Disney World, I've got a few "foot saving" tips because, unfortunately, been there/done that.

First and main thing to remember is to keep your feet dry.  Moisture is what causes the friction that creates the blisters.  Buy new socks because socks that have already been worn have some spots that are thinner than others and that offers less protection.  Don't wear cotton socks, they get wet and stay wet.  I suggest you go to a sporting goods store and buy yourself a few pair of sports socks that will keep you dry.  Carry an extra pair with you in the Parks, when you start feeling tired, sit down, take off your socks and put on some fresh ones.

Put Gold Bond powder INSIDE your socks...absorbs moisture very well.

I like sneakers for walking in Disney, but they need to have some ventilation (mesh).  You should wear shoes that leave wiggle room for your toes, but keep your heels in place when you're walking.  Also, take a second pair of walking shoes.  Don't wear the same pair everyday.

Another suggestion is to purchase Blister Blocks by BandAid.  It's sort of like extra skin.  If you start feeling pain in a certain spot on your foot you can protect it with this product.  Also carry it with you in the Parks.  Don't forget to moisturize your feet at the end of the day...this helps too.

I hope this works for you.  I know firsthand how this can ruin a vacation...Have a wonderful time!
