Hi! I am going to Disney in June (for the pin event). It will be my first time with my service dog, Freedom. Do you have any tips for making the visit a good one?

Eliza, I think you definitely need to pick up a "First Time" button for Freedom at Guest Services when you arrive. It will be an exciting time for both of you.  Service animals are welcome in most areas of Disney World and the cast members can help you with any questions you might have once you arrive.  They must be kept on leash/harness at all times.  They are permitted to go on most attractions and you can find a list of those that are unable to accommodate them due to safety for you and for the dog. You can find that list online at wdwinfo.com and type in disabilities.  I would make sure you carry a dish and water with you for Freedom since it will be warm at that time of year. There are designated "break" areas for your dog as well at each of the parks so be sure to pick up the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities at Guest Services to know where these areas can be found.  Also be prepared that you will be in crowds and people are naturally drawn to animals and will want to pet and talk with you and Freedom. Lots of new sights and sounds but how exciting to think you even might get a picture of you and Freedom with Mickey!
