    Rossella from NY Asked

I will be in Disney in July and stating at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs. Are there any discount offers for dining at the park. I understand I can not purchase the Disney Dining plan since it is not a Disney resort hotel. Any tips?

    Hi Rossella,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing another great question to us!

If you are planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort several times this year, you may consider becoming an Annual Passholder and, as an Annual Passholder, you would be eligible for select merchandise and dining discounts. We have been quite pleased with the savings on dining and merchandise we have received since becoming Annual Passholders. Tables in Wonderland is another savings option but currently is exclusive to Florida Residents, Annual Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club members.

Without either of those savings options, I suggest that you review the dining options at each of the parks and resorts. Check the menus of the restaurants you plan to visit and check the pricing to determine what fits your budget. To see the menus, go to the home page of each restaurant and click on the link to View Menu. Once you select that link, you can typically choose breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner depending on what dining time options are available for each restaurant.

Know that quick-service options tend to be more affordable. A few of our quick-service favorites at each park include Epcot - Sunshine Seasons , Magic Kingdom - Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Disney's Hollywood Studios - ABC Commissary, and Disney's Animal Kingdom - Satu'li Canteen. I also recommend dining at a few table-service restaurants for dinner. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, we love 50's Prime Time Café, at Magic Kingdom, The Plaza Restaurant and at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Yak & Yeti™ Restaurant. Epcot is the place to eat - there are several different and delicious dining options!

Rossella, I always create a chart with all of our plans, including dining experiences before we go. Doing so, I can estimate the cost of food and budget accordingly. Be sure to make advanced dining reservations, especially for character meals!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
