Can you use Disney Gift Cards for food? Alcoholic beverages? Tips at restaurants? And if not, are these put on your magic band to be charged to the room at the end of your stay? Going 9/10/16-9/17/16 for the first time with my kids!!

    Hi, Darcy!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

First trip! How exciting! You are in for one of the most memorable vacations ever!

Disney gift cards are always included in my "Things to Pack" list. Disney gift cards make enjoying your vacation so magical and so convenient. They can be used at all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks and all Walt Disney World resorts, and most locations at Disney Springs. If you are purchasing food, a tip can be added to your Disney gift card. You can also use the gift card for adult beverages, as well, just as long as you are on Disney property.

Currently, Disney gift cards cannot be linked to your Magic Band. You will need to add a credit card of your choice to your My Disney Experience account, which is linked to your Magic Band. Once your magical day is completed in the parks or at the resort, and you return to your Disney resort for the night, stop by the front desk and have a Cast Member to print your bill for the day. At that point, you can use a Disney gift card to pay for your daily purchases.

I hope that you have a magical vacation. If you have any questions before your vacation, please visit with us again! Only a few days to go!

    Happy planning!
