I will be in Disney from February 28th to march 7th, with my 3 kids, husband and my mom, I have the greatest mom on earth, she took care of my dying dad for two years, he just past away 3 months ago, I would like to celebrate my mom at Disney, any ideas

    Wow Linda,

It sounds like your mom is an amazing individual who definitely deserves a vacation.  How thoughtful of you to think of celebrating her.  Here are some of my thoughts on ways to make her trip special:

    • Click HERE to visit the Disney Florist website.  During the new "What will you Celebrate" campaign, Disney is offering a huge variety of "in-room celebrations".  You can surprise your mom when she returns to your room one evening with anything from flowers, fruit, disney merchandise, etc. I was recently the recipient of an in-room celebration.  Trust me when I tell you these are no ordinary room deliveries.  They are amazingly well presented.
    • Treat your mom to dinner at one of Disney World's signature restaurants.  You can pre-order a celebration cake for your meal by requesting one when you make your Advanced Dining Reservations.  Some great choices are the California Grille at the Contemporary, Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge, and Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I've celebrated special occasions at all of these, and they are fabulous.
    • Is your mom a spa fan?  The spas at the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs Resort are a great place to be pampered for an afternoon.
    • Take a specialty cruise to watch either Wishes (the fireworks at Magic Kingdom) or Illuminations (Epcot).  Click HERE for information.

Whatever you do for your mom, I'm sure spending time together as a family will be a wonderful and, much-deserved experience.
