We will be in Disney at the end of July..It will be my sons 4th birthday and i was wondering about crowds and heat..i know its going to be rough..how rough. We are staying at Baylake , wondering if that makes a difference?

    Hi there, Whitney!

I totally understand your concern about crowds and heat at the Walt Disney World Resort in July. Central Florida is definitely a HOT place to be in the middle of the summer. The humidity is the hardest part for me, but I've found that with some careful planning, you can do pretty well.

What we like to do is to take advantage of the morning Extra Magic Hours at all of the Theme Parks. The buses start running an hour before the Parks open. Being at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, you're just a 5-minute walk from the gates of Magic Kingdom Park! You'll be able to accomplish so much of the Park in the early morning hours. I recommend going back to enjoy your Resort swimming pool for a few hours during the heat of the day and then returning to the same Park or even a different Park for the evening festivities after the sun goes down.

If you're participating in the MyMagic+ testing, I recommend scheduling your FastPass+ reservations as soon as you are able to so that you are sure to get the times you want. We also like to have lunch out at a Table Service restaurant on hot days so that we can chill out in the comfort of air-conditioning for a couple of hours.

The most important things are to stay hydrated and remember to re-apply your sunblock several times throughout the day. The sun is really strong and you can get sunburned very quickly and that's no way to spend your vacation!

I sure hope this helps, Whitney! I just know you and your family will have a Pixie Dusted vacation!
