We will be at disney early November and celebrating my one year old's first birthday. My husband, my four year old daughter and I will be going. What are some fun ways to celebrate and have a party while there? Thanks!

    Hi Rebecca,

Happy early birthday to your little one! Walt Disney World will be such a memorable place to celebrate this special milestone.

I would definitely recommend getting a reservation for Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort by calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463). Be sure to do this ASAP as many restaurants will book up as far out as 180 days. This is where we celebrated my niece's first birthday several years ago. Mickey and his pals, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Minnie are all there. You can also order a custom cake by calling the cake hotline at (407) 827-2253. This is what we did for my niece and Goofy happened to be in the room when we sang Happy Birthday to her and he danced with her right after that. So, you never know what kind of surprises can happen.

Be sure to get her a special "birthday button" when you check-in at your resort. Have your little one wear it each day of your vacation, not just on his/her special day! Cast members will give him/her special attention and sometimes there are other surprises in store!

It is often fun to get a special set of Mickey Ears and have them embroidered with his/her name or "My First Birthday"! You can get ears at many locations, but they embroider them at the Chapeau in Magic Kingdom on Main Street, USA or Celebrity 5 &10 on Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood Studios. As of this summer, they even had a set of birthday ears!

May the memories be magical on your upcoming trip!
