We are going to Disney in early February and we are taking our 2 year old daughter. Should we do the hopper passes for all 6 days? We have a full kitchen in our villa is it worth getting the meal package?

    Hi Amy,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I have always enjoyed the flexibility the park hopper offers, and found it especially handy when traveling with a toddler.  Often times the key to melt-down-free happiness is
keeping the scenery changing - and at Walt Disney World, getting there can be half the fun to a toddler.

I found that when things started to go south at one park, changing gears and heading to a new park would give our family the "break" from the theme park stress and give us a chance to really just enjoy the ride.  The key is to bring your own stroller to keep these options open.  For instance, if we were at Disney's Hollywood Studios there was nothing better than the calming walk over to Epcot to give the little one a chance to relax and nap (without super-stimulation).  Then we would explore Epcot before taking the Monorail over to the Magic Kingdom.  We never expected to see and do every attraction at each park in a day - so the park hopper allowed us to do a few things and moving on to a different park.

We always stay in a villa too, and I have yet to purchase the dining plan.  I either ship/pack snacks myself, grocery shop, or take advantage of a service such as www.gardengrocer.com to stock up for the week.  By eating breakfast in the villa, and having the healthy/familiar foods and snacks on hand we rarely found it necessary to do table service meals.  I don't like the "schedule" having planned meals requires you to follow, and found we actually eat a lot less than the dining plan allows.  So for my family, the dining plan is simply not cost-effective.

    Hope this helps!
