Is the Disney Dining Plan a good idea in most people's opinions? We've used it twice and have always had money left on it.

Hi, Connie! Thank you so much for bringing your questions to the Disney Parks Moms Panel; I’ll do my best to share my own experiences with you to help you choose which restaurants and plans are the best for you. After all, Walt Disney World Resort is a foodie’s adventure!

If you have a hungry family, especially one with teens or kids with big appetites, one of the Disney Dining Plans is for you. I find that it’s a ton of food! You can choose between a few plans, such as the Quick-Service Plan, where you patronize quick-service eateries, with no tips needed and plentiful options all over property. If you love a sit-down meal, or adore character experiences that allow your favorite characters come to you while you enjoy Disney hospitality and world-class fare, the Deluxe Dining Plan is for you. The Deluxe Plan is perfect for those that need a place to renew over a meal, and those that love characters.

If you find yourself with credits leftover at the end of your trip, don’t let them go to waste! You can spend a meal credit over breakfast or lunch the day of your departure, depending on when your Disney’s Magical Express pick up is due. You can also downgrade a meal into snack credits and do what I love; packing your suitcase full of enormous Mickey Rice Krispy Treats to enjoy when you get home and extend your vacation.

I hope you have a yummy vacation packed with all sorts of new bites to eat. Cheers! ~ Lindsey P.
