I am going to Disney from Dec23rd to January 1st. We bought the 3 day Disney parks tickets. Which are the best days to go to the Parks( Less crowed and best shows)? Until Christmas and during Christmas days or between Christmas and New Years Eve?

    Hi Sandra!

You are certainly going to enjoy the festive spirit at Walt Disney World during your Christmas vacation. The resorts are decked out in beautiful decor and the parks will all have decorations and music playing during this time.

Unfortunately, this is also the favorite time for many guests to come for a visit so the parks are very crowded.  It is impossible to predict which parks will be best on which days as it seems to change constantly. My only thought is to avoid a weekend day in the parks as sometimes that adds local families to the numbers.

The Magic Kingdom will be the most crowded park of all four with the Animal Kingdom park coming in behind that due to the new Pandora attractions. Those are drawing thousands of guests each day willing to wait several hours to experience the latest of Disney magical attractions.

My favorite Christmas show is Illuminations: Reflections of Earth in Epcot as they add some special fireworks and music at the end of the normal show. You will also want to see the Magic Kingdom castle lit up with millions of tiny lights making this likely the most magical sight on property.

I suggest you do the parks as early as possible as the closer you get to New Years the more crowded things will become. Make sure you have Dining reservations in hand or a plan for dining. Eat early and avoid the crowds when dining at Quick Service spots. Definitely get your FastPasses in place and don’t worry about doing every attraction during this time. Enjoy what you can and just know it will be crowded. Just don’t let that ruin your special time.
