I've never been to Disney but would like to take my daughter for her 2nd Birthday. We already have our Florida resident passes. Need advice on where to stay, how she can meet characters (she loves Minnie) and ideas for a toddler's birthday please! Thanks!

    Hi Barbara,

What a great idea, to visit Walt Disney World for the first time for your daughter's second birthday!

There are a few places where she could meet Minnie Mouse.  You could meet Minnie Mouse as Minnie Magnifique the poodle trainer at Pete's Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus at Magic Kingdom.  You can meet Minnie Mouse at the Character Spot at Epcot or at the Magic of Disney Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Another option, if you do not want to wait in line to meet Minnie Mouse, is to go to a character meal where Minnie Mouse visits guests.  You might consider a meal at Chef Mickey's, where Minnie Mouse often visits.  Please do note that all character appearances are subject to change.

As to where to stay, there are so many options at Walt Disney World.  I suggest that you take a look at the many resorts at Walt Disney World to see which best suits your family's style and budget.  Disney often offers special rates on Walt Disney World resort hotels for Florida residents.  Keep an eye on these to see if you can take advantage of a great rate!

Finally, since your daughter loves Minnie Mouse, consider having the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts create a custom gift for your daughter.  When we celebrated our daughter's seventh birthday at Walt Disney World, we had a plush Minnie Mouse holding a bouquet of balloons delivered to her at our resort.  She loved it!

I hope that these ideas give you a place to start planning, Barbara.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
