I am a Disney Dad. We took our 2 year old in December and it was great except for finding a place to eat. What is the best way to avoid the rush, the long waits, so that we can sit down and eat?

Glad to hear you had a great visit, and sorry to hear you found some long waits and crowds in the restaurants.  I can't tell if most of your issues relate to table service or counter service restaurants (you can sit down at either), but a few thoughts come to mind to try to reduce these issues in the future in general...

    - Make reservations well in advance of your visit for table service restaurants
    - When possible try to eat at "non peak" times.  For example a 10:00am breakfast/brunch, or an 11:00am lunch, or a  5:00pm dinner.
    - Consider eating some meals outside the parks, at the resorts, especially for lunch when crowds can be lighter at the Resort restaurants
    - If possible, try to visit WDW during less busy periods, so you are competing with fewer guests

Have fun planning for your next trip!
