Hi! Is a Disney cruise truly appropriate for the 18-23 year old age group? Will there be enough young adults so that my daughters won't feel too "bored" or displaced among the younger children on-board? Thank you!

Welcome aboard, Angela! It sounds like you're considering setting sail with Captain Mickey for a magical family cruise! It is true that Disney Cruise Line caters to families of all ages, and many young families are attracted to the family-friendly atmosphere of a Disney cruise. But when I say they cater to families of all ages, I mean just that! They have not only the kids in mind, but the tweens, the teens, the young adults and the older adults. Everyone can find something just for them on a Disney cruise.

Did you know that Disney Cruise Line has a group called Club 18-21? Now, it's not an actual club space like the youth clubs on the ship, but there are activities geared toward that age group that happen each day. Guests receive a Personal Navigator each night that details the schedule of events and activities for the following day. There are a few Club 18-21 activities available each day and that certainly draws those of like ages together. Now, I'll be completely honest and tell you that it really depends on when you sail as to if many of those young adults attend the activities. For instance, when I sailed in January, those Club 18-21 activities were not well attended because most young adults were at college at that time of year. Over spring break, winter break, and in the summer there are many more college aged kids onboard and attending those fun events.

I do recommend that your older kids attend the very first Club 18-21 mixer, as they get to help the Cruise Staff Team set the agenda for the rest of the cruise, so don't miss it! Plus, it's the best time to get to know each other! They'll plan meal get-togethers, sports activities, scavenger hunts, game nights, club nights and more.

Plus, your older children will really enjoy the nightly Broadway-style shows, restaurants, and 18 and over clubs that have music, dancing and activities well into the wee hours of the morning. I hope those details help as you plan, Angela!
