We are going on a Disney Cruise next October! It will be my family's first cruise! We are traveling on the Fantasy, and I was wondering if anyone knows if my son will be able to ride the waterslide. He will be 4 1/2.

    Ahoy, Phoebe!

How thrilling to be planning your family's first Disney Cruise Line sailing with Captain Mickey and his gang! I remember the excitement and anticipation leading up to our first cruise on the Disney Magic.

The Fantasy is an amazing ship and the Aquaduck is super fun (and very wet!). The rules to ride the Aquaduck are more about height than age. Your son would need to be 42" tall by the time you sail. You will also need to plan for him to ride with someone who is over the age of 14.

In order for your son to ride the Mickey's Pool Slide, he will need to be at least 38" tall (and under 64" - I am pretty sure that isn't a problem). This pool is reserved for guests under the age of 14 as well...I *might* have tried to ride since I'm within the height requirement, lol.

In any case, I'm sure your son will enjoy slipping and sliding the day away on the ship! Some of my favorite tips for first cruisers can be found here.

Please come back and visit us here at the  Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions before you set sail.

“If you can dream it, you can do it” just about sums up my life. I am a mother of two amazing girls and wife to a fantastic man, all of whom support my passion for all things Disney. I am a thrill seeker, and have been fortunate enough to go parasailing high above the Disney Fantasy, zip-lining in St. Lucia, and swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman – all while sailing the seas with Disney Cruise Line. I would love to help you plan your Disney Cruise Line vacation! Learn More About Tracy
