Do Disney Cruise Lines incorporate or allow use of MagicBands (which are awesome)?

    Ahoy Stacey –

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your excellent question! Things are a little different at Disney Cruise Line when it comes to MagicBands since there is little to wait at all for character greetings, deck parties, and fun family experiences. MagicBands are used primarily for the Nursery and Oceaneer Club for check-in and check-out of the children. They have cool technology that the Youth Counselors use to notify parents exactly where to find their sea pups in the vast play spaces at the Oceaneer Club. The MagicBands are to be used for 1 cruise, but pirate children who would like to keep them after the cruise is over can do so for a nominal fee. For your purposes, Stacey, the Key to the World Card is your necessary lifeline with Disney Cruise Line. This special key is not only used to open your stateroom door, but also activates the lighting and air conditioning unit in your room. Just like the MagicBand at Walt Disney World, the Key to the World Card is used on the ship and Castaway Cay as a charge card for purchases, and the Photographers will need it to link pictures to your stateroom. Finally, you need this Key to debark and embark the ship. Stacey, I hope this helps and please come back to “sea” us if you have more questions.
