We are going on our 1st Disney Cruise on the Dream in May 2012. I have two 8yrs old that will keep each other busy, but my 11yr old boy & 15yr old girl will be separated. Is there a site where they can make friends with other cruisers b4 we embark?

    Hi Amy,

Congratulations on your first Disney Cruise!  I'm so excited to hear that you'll be sailing on the Disney Dream.  It's a gorgeous ship and you and your family are going to have a wonderful time!

There is no site where the kids can meet and get to know each other before their sailing, but I will tell you this.  My children are 11 and 14, and have been sailing on Disney Cruise Line since they were about 5 and 8.  They have never had a problem making friends within the first 30 minutes of being there.  The counselors are very well trained and make it a point to get all of the kids acquainted with each other.

Last year, I found my daughter running around with new friends.  They were on the Guest Services line because they were looking for information for a group scavenger hunt.  She ran past me, waved, and kept right on going.  I had to find out what she was doing there from the person she spoke with at Guest Services!  My point is, you have nothing to worry about.  Your kids are going to have an even better time than you will and they will have new email addresses for their new friends when they leave that ship.

I hope you have a magical sailing.  Bon voyage Amy!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
