Do the Disney Characters walk around the ship during certain times? Do they come through the dining room during dinner?

Welcome aboard, Samantha! You must be planning a magical cruise with Disney! How exciting!

Disney characters are always out and about on the ships. Each day, guests receive a Personal Navigator which is a schedule of all of the events and activities going on around the ship. One entire line of that schedule is dedicated to the Meet n' Greets with the characters, letting guests know when and where to meet their favorites each day.

While the characters don't usually come into the dining rooms during dinner (except for Mickey at Animator's Palate on show night), some cruises do included a character dining breakfast. Most cruises of six nights or longer will have one of these breakfasts for guests. You'll be assigned a morning for your character breakfast, and you can show up and dine while some of your favorite Disney friends make their way from table to table, posing for photographs and signing autographs. It's always a favorite morning for my kiddos!

But, even if you're on a shorter sailing, I promise you'll find ample opportunities to meet up with the Disney characters. We love meeting them on the ships as opposed to at the parks because the lines are shorter onboard, and sometimes we have fun unexpected encounters with them in the halls. My kids still laugh about Peter Pan chasing them around the deck and hiding from my husband! Stitch tried to cause some silly trouble in halls one day too. And I will always treasure the memory of Snow White and my daughter skipping around the hall hand in hand when we ran into her on the Fantasy. We just love those surprise meetings in the halls!

Have fun as you continue to plan your cruise, Samantha! Let me know how else I can help!
