Disney to celebrate our 2 and 6 year old boys birthdays. We are going May 13-17th. We wanted to do a character breakfast at Chef Mickey, Dine at the BBQ Mickey @ Ft. Wilderness and possibly Fantasmic but everything is already booked. what to do?

    Martha:

I realize that you are only days away from your trip, however, I always encourage friends to continue to call to get reservations if a restaurant is full. In fact, a friend of mine just announced on her Facebook status that she'd finally gotten a reservation at Chef Mickey's after a few days of calling!

Because you must pay upfront for Mickey's Backyard Barbecue, you'll find that most openings occur starting about a week out of a sold out dinner because people are calling to cancel in time to get a refund. So now is a good time to start trying again.

My advice: put Disney's Dining Number (407-939-3463) in your speed dial and call WHENEVER you think about it. Dining reservations are canceled all the time, so feel free to call multiple times a day. And even if you don't secure them before you leave, I'd encourage you to keep calling even after you arrive at the happiest place on earth.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
