We are going to disney 11/20 - 11/25. It is me, my babysitter and 4 kids (11,8,5,11months). Which would be the best place to stay as far as transportation/walking through resort poly. or FW cabin? How is the trans. in FW? I know how the poly is

    Renee:

As much as I am a fan of Fort Wilderness, if you're trying to choose a resort based solely on transportation options, the Polynesian would be the better pick, especially if you request one of the buildings that are within an easy walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center.  Its monorail access to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot gives it a leg up over the internal buses you'd have to use at the fort just to get to the park buses or the boat to Magic Kingdom. There's something to be said for not having to fold up a stroller on the monorail vs. having to do so for the buses.

With all that said, though, a cabin will certainly give you more space for the six of you to spread out, not to mention a place where the younger ones can head for a nap with its private bedroom.  The cabins provide two televisions, a full-size kitchen and dining area, and a nice deck, to boot.  A good compromise might be to rent a golf cart for the week at the fort so that you are not as dependent on the internal buses.

To me the decision is more room vs. better transportation.  Only you can know which is more important.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
