We will be at Disney for my Autistic son's 25th birthday on December 28th - how do I ensure he will have an amazing birthday?? We plan to spend his birthday in Hollywood Studios.

    Hi Valerie,

There is no better place to spend a birthday than at the most magical place on earth! You and your son are going to have a wonderful time, and it will surely be a birthday he'll remember forever!

As a mama of a Mouseketeer on the autism spectrum myself, I'd recommend that you stop by the Guest Relations location inside the park when you first arrive and ask them about the services that are available to guests with special needs. They may recommend the Disability Access Service, and they'll also be able to point out areas within the park that would be quiet places in case your son needs a sensory break. Please also share with them that you're celebrating his birthday, and they'll be able to provide you with complimentary birthday and celebration buttons. You'll find that Cast Members, and even some Guests, will love showering him with birthday wishes!

As for other ways to celebrate his special day, if he's a thrill-seeker, he'll love The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster! I'm sure he'll love feeling like a toy in Andy's Backyard at the all new Toy Story Land, and if he enjoys street performers, I'd definitely encourage you to be on the lookout for Citizens of Hollywood. A special dinner at a Table-service restaurant is always a wonderful way to celebrate, and you can even order a birthday cake ahead of time to enjoy with your meal. For a magical end to your day, I'd recommend seeing Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! It's so much fun and only offered during the holiday season!

Valerie, please tell your son "Happy Birthday" from all of us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
