Hi Disney Moms! What can anyone tell me about the secretive Characterpalooza at Hollywood Studios? My daughter is dying to meet the Evil Queen. The new Storybook Dining experience at Artist Point would be a sure thing however no reservations available

    Hi Katherine!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! *Warning.* The following information is super top secret. Should you choose to continue reading, do so at your own risk. (Looks over both shoulders to make sure no one is around.)

"Character Palooza" is an unofficial event that officially doesn't exist. It's not listed on a times guide, and most Cast Members have been instructed to forget about it. It's more of what we like to call a 'Magical Moment' that sometimes happens. But luckily it happens often enough that you should be able to catch it.

First up, you'll need to make sure that you'll be visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios on a day when Fantasmic! is showing. Then, to secretly, possibly, maybe-or-maybe not meet five to a dozen characters in one swoop, plan to be in the area near The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror one to three hours before Fantasmic! starts. I've heard from some underground sources that a big green gate near the exit of the tall, spooky hotel, which neighbors a path to the Fantasmic! stage, will open for about 20 minutes at a time, once an hour, for three hours before the show. So if you don't catch it at say 4 P.M., you should be able to catch it at 5 P.M. Again, this special experience may or may not exist. And if it does exist, there is no way to know who will show up. But also keep your eyes peeled in the mid-afternoon as sometimes these characters are out walking, or even dancing, in the areas around Echo Lake or even walking along Sunset Boulevard.

Bonus Tip: Don't give up on looking for Dining Reservations as tables open up all the time.

I hope this helped, Katherine, and We'll See You Real Soon!
