    Rachel from KS Asked

are there any discounts for resorts or visits for family with disabilities? do you need any documentation?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rachel! Thank you for bringing us your question about your visit with your family to Walt Disney World Resort

I imagine you must be worried about you all waiting in line. Even though there are no special discounts for families with disabilities, something you must know is that Disney has designed a program to help people with medical conditions navigate the Parks with more ease. The Disability Access Service (DAS) is a special tool designed to accommodate guests who aren’t able to wait in conventional queue environments due to a disability or medical condition. It offers guests a return time for attractions based on current wait times. If at least one member in your party qualifies for this service, the entire group will all be eligible to receive a return time for another attraction once you finish your first attraction, and so on. The best thing is that this service can be used in addition to the FastPass+ service.

As soon as you arrive at the first theme park (any of the main four Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom), go to the Guest Relations Office and request to speak to a Cast Member about your family members' conditions. They may ask you a couple of questions about your concerns in the Park to determine eligibility. They will most likely ask you to describe the different conditions but no documentation will be necessary. If at least one member qualifies for this program, your MagicBand and those of the other members in your party will be scanned and you will be all set. This procedure does not need to be repeated at other Parks since once activated, the benefit will be valid for your length of stay. Remember that the person this benefit has been issued to will need to be present at all rides in order to redeem special entrance.

Rachel, if you need any more help from us regarding DAS or anything else, please do not hesitate to come back with more questions!

Wishing you all a pixie-dusted vacation,

    ~Desiree

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
